Allowing Blackjack into a State
The question of allowing blackjack into a state is not a small one these days. In fact, it is one of the primary issues that state legislators are dealing with because they realize how much is at stake. They know that the question of whether or not to allow blackjack tables into their states equates to allowing millions of dollars to funnel in. Right now most states are under huge deficits and budgetary strains. Finding a new way to manage this by bringing in an extra few million every month or so would be a viable way of keeping away at the financial problems that they have. That’s exactly what Rhode Island legislators are looking toward. They realize the monetary potential when it comes to blackjack and allowing the tables into the state. They also recognize the competition coming in from neighboring states. Namely, Massachusetts is giving Rhode Island a run for the money. Massachusetts is on the brink of authorizing blackjack tables to be used throughout the state along with state-of-the-art slots parlors. If they go ahead with the change then they’re going to benefit from millions of dollars in revenue. Likely as they continue to develop their own gambling initiative they’re going to become major competition from neighboring states. Rhode Island legislators don’t want this to happen and that’s why right now they are contemplating allowing the table games into the state. The question of whether or not it’s going to happen though is in the hands of the voters and is slated to be included on the ballot coming next year.
Another thing that Rhode Island is considering doing is expanding on the gambling initiatives they ready have going. It’s no secret that all forms of gambling are huge revenue stream right now and what better way to capitalize on that than to expand on the casinos already up and running. They have proven their worth so far and likely they are going to continue to grow. Rhode Island legislators most likely want to draw not only from their population of the population of neighboring states as well. If they can do this then they have a shot at taking over the market for gambling in the northeastern part of the United States.
